Proudly Family Led Since 1999

Founded by Craig Stevenson in 1999, Braehead Foods began as a small game supplier based on a family farm in the West of Scotland. What started with Craig’s passion for quality produce and supporting chefs has since grown into one of the UK’s leading speciality food wholesalers, operating from a 45,000 sq ft premises and supplying chefs across the country with the finest ingredients to help enhance their menus.

Chef-led from the start

Craig’s love of hospitality and drive to support professional kitchens led him to open our chef-led Production Kitchen in 2010. His vision was simple — to help chefs by reducing pressure on busy kitchens and saving valuable prep time, while maintaining exceptional quality.

The first creations from our Production Kitchen — Chicken Liver Parfait and Haggis Bon Bons — quickly became customer favourites and remain bestsellers to this day.

Still Family Led

Braehead Foods remains proudly family run. Today, Craig’s daughters, Gillian and Aileen, lead the business — continuing the vision their dad started back in 1999. Both share his deep-rooted passion for great food, genuine hospitality, and supporting chefs across the industry.

Having grown up surrounded by the business, they understand first-hand the hard work and creativity that go into every kitchen. Under their leadership, Braehead Foods continues to evolve while staying true to the values that built its reputation — quality, consistency, and care.

Together, they’re driving the company forward with fresh ideas, new innovations, and the same commitment to helping chefs create exceptional dishes with confidence.

A family business since 1989, Braehead foods is led by Managing Director Craig Stevenson and supported by his daughters, Aileen, and Gill. We supply everything from quality chilled, ambient, and frozen foods to bespoke products made for chefs, by chefs in our Production Kitchen.

Together with Solstice, Carnivore, Davin Foods, Shoal and Select, Braehead Foods forms part of the whole chilled basket solution available from the Reynolds Group — the UK’s largest independently owned greengrocer.
